February 19, 2009 - If the recent economic downturn has been putting a dent in your financial situation, please visit Doug's blog for lots of tips on staying financially healthy. Ironically, Doug has been busier than ever lately with gigs, teaching, and studio work. Please check back soon for an update on Doug's upgraded studio and bass tracking services. This promises to be a great year for creative new projects!
 
November 16, 2008 - Sorry, it's simply been too busy to write an update lately! Please visit the CD Shop to pick up your copy of Doug's CD at the new discounted price! The new blog (see below) has been quite a hit, leading Doug to be featured on the Musician's Cooler podcast, as well as in an article due out Nov. 24 on the Musician Wages web site. Doug's also been teaching and playing in lots of cool new classes at LA Music Academy, working with spectacular players like Carl Verheyen, Ralph Humphrey, Bill Fowler and Tierney Sutton. On top of that, he's been invited to contribute bass to upcoming albums by songwriter Shawn Harris and the remarkable Norwegian musician Ronny Heimdal. Here is a snapshot from a recent showcase gig for Jessica Taylor Purse's vocal studio:

July 28, 2008 - Staying cool? Doug has been comfortably ensconced in a nice air conditioned studio, playing music and writing his new blog, Sound Money Sound Music. It is basically a personal finance primer for musicians and other "income-challenged" creative types. Please turn on your friends to the helpful information in this new blog. On a related subject, Doug contributed some last minute edits and ideas to the new music business book by his longtime friend and musical collaborator, Chris Juergensen. Recommended reading for all indie artists.
 
June 1, 2008 - The gig gods have been kind lately, providing many new projects with acts such as Cody Gillette and Matt Price. Summer 2008 looks to be another busy one with lots of performances, and again Doug will be teaching and coaching bands at the L.A. Music Academy Summer Program. Word continues to spread about Doug's album, most recently featured on the Eclectic Mix podcast. Please check it out, and if you like what you hear, post a review on iTunes. Your support is what keeps independent music alive, and it is always appreciated!
 
Apr 12, 2008 - Thank you all for your overwhelming support of Doug's new album! Thanks to podcast play and word of mouth promotion, the CD is generating interest all over the world. In addition this site, Doug's CD is also now available and selling well on Abstract Logix. Meanwhile, Doug keeps busy with his regular Southern California gigs and teaching at L.A. Music Academy. In the next couple of months, special gigs with Shin Kawasaki and Jessica Purse are also planned. Thanks again for your support, and please keep an eye on the gigs page for detailed info.
 
Jan 1, 2008 - The new year is here already, and response to Doug's album has been fantastic! It is still early in the distribution and promotion phase, but the CD is already generating great reviews (see sidebar) and has been featured on top rated podcasts such as Reaching for Lucidity and SmoothGroovers. Judging by early indications, 2008 should be a year of exciting new developments! Hope you finished off 2007 with a bang....and don't forget to write 2008 on your checks!
